Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this site. Here’s how it’s built, and how to tell us if something doesn’t work for you.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Our aim

Everyone should be able to find out about their options and ask for help, whatever their ability. That includes people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, a magnifier or voice control, and people who find reading or forms hard.

This statement covers the Help with Money website. Help with Money, a trading style of Your Debt Plan UK Limited.

How accessible this site is

We build the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That’s our target, not a claim that every page meets it.

Known issues: none recorded yet. The site has been checked by the team who built it, not by an independent auditor, so there may be problems we haven’t found.

Independent audit: not yet carried out. When one is, we’ll publish the date, who carried it out and what they found here.

What we have done

  • Colour contrast: text is checked against its background to meet the WCAG AA contrast level, and it is never paler than the main text.
  • Keyboard: you can use the whole site, including the questions, with a keyboard alone.
  • Visible focus: a clear outline shows where you are, in a colour that stands out on every background.
  • Reading: text starts at 18 pixels on a phone, headings are in plain order, and lines are kept to a comfortable length.
  • Screen readers: pages use headings, landmarks and form labels. Decorative pictures are hidden from screen readers, and meaningful ones have a text description.
  • Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, our movement is switched off.
  • The questions: one at a time, with your answers kept for up to 7 days, so you can take a break or go back a step. Errors say what to do.

What may not work well

To finish the questions, you confirm your mobile number with a code sent by text. If you can’t receive texts, or this step is hard for you, call 0800 817 4168 (Monday to Saturday 9am to 8pm, closed Sunday) and we can help over the phone.

The budget planner is the most complex part of the site. If any part of it doesn’t work for you, tell us and we’ll find another way to help.

We link to other websites, such as MoneyHelper. We don’t control them, so we can’t make sure they are accessible.

Prefer to talk, or need another format?

You don’t have to use the website. You can talk to us by phone: call 0800 817 4168 (Monday to Saturday 9am to 8pm, closed Sunday).

We can also give you information in another format, such as large print or plain text. Just ask.

Tell us about a problem

If you find something hard to use, please tell us which page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to work out a solution with you.

  • Email: [email protected], with “Accessibility” in the subject
